Are you the parent/carer of a child who is deaf or has a hearing impairment? Do you live in or around Croydon?

WE CAN HELP!

Croydon Deaf Children's Society (CDCS) is a local charity run by parents and friends of deaf and hearing impaired children living in or aroung the borough of Croydon.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME

We are affiliated to the NDCS (National Deaf Children's Society) which allows us to make use of their resources, information and experience.

ALL HEARING IMPAIRED CHILDREN ARE WELCOME

Whatever their level of hearing loss.

Whether or not they have any additional needs.

Whether they wear hearing aids or are fitted with a cochlear implant.

Whether they are aural, signing or use total communication.

Whatever their ethnic background.

And of course siblings, relatives or carers.

We send out regular information giving details of forthcoming events and activities, and items of interest.

HOW CAN WE HELP?

We can help by:

Providing information on deafness, methods of communication and special educational needs.

Holding social events.

General family assessments.

Advice on equipment available.

Helping with DLA applications and the statementing process.

Providing practical and emotional support.

Holding meetings and talks by professionals.
